For two and a half billion years,
Chlorella, a microscopic green algae has inhabited our World and is thought to
have been the forebear of all plants. On a weight for weight basis, it is
extremely nutritious, containing 67% protein, with all the essential amino
acids. It is one of the richest plant sources of Chlorophyll and a rich source
of Beta Carotene/Vitamin A, Vitamin B12 and Iron, all in a natural form.
Chlorella is the largest-selling health food supplement in Japan, where it is
known as the "Great Normaliser" because it is believed to help balance body
functions and has been designated a "Functional Food". The special drying
process used during production of Ace Nutrition Japanese Chlorella breaks the
hard cellulose cell wall slightly, so allowing optimal digestibility whilst
maintaining cell integrity.
Chlorophyll prevents germs developing,
speeds wound healing and acts as an immunity booster and tonic. As a
detoxifier, it has been shown to help neutralise the effect of some cancer -
causing chemicals. Chlorella also contains a complex molecule found in its cell
wall, which like chlorophyll, binds with heavy metals, like cadmium and lead to
carry them safely out of the body. Studies have also shown that Chlorella can
remove two of the most persistent pesticides, PCB and DDT and the Japanese
became interested because of its detoxifying potential for Hiroshima and
Nagasaki bomb victims. Chlorella also contains growth factor (CGF), so called
because it has been found to encourage growth in children and it seems to
stimulate the immune system and healing process.
The cold-pressed
tablets are free from preservatives, gluten, added sugar and artificial colour
and are certified free from pesticides and herbicides. The only added
ingredients are totally inert and are necessary to produce a uniform,
non-brittle tablet which will disintegrate to compulsory, BP (British
Pharmacopoeia) Standards.
